Vietnam to Manhood
by Jim Rose

Air, light, heat, rain, life, death, childhood, war, and the refusal of love: one year in Saigon that changed my life.
Memories filter through over thirty years of living and
growing, exposing the different man I am today.

The humanity of man can develop and change to become more gentle, finding honor in the kind way that we must treat each other.
I view my own images through the prism of time,
sometimes seeing crystal clear and other times through the
fragments of the past that creates who I am.

I’ve evolved from the neighborhood kid to a student, artist, then soldier, father, husband, and teacher.
My priorities have changed as a result of the difficult and
wonderful times of my life.

My media are time and experience, photography, drawing, writing, digital imagery, and multimedia presentations
helping me to combine many parts of my life and sharing my insights and questions (some still unanswered).

“Naman is a searching, naked expression of our efforts to be human.“
