WHEN A YOUNG MAN DIESOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

When a young man dies
old men cry.
Don’t ask why or how
it was his time now.

A sorrowful moist daze
reflects the times haze.
No where to escape
Never going away, just numb

I understand my father now
Waiting for the news
Living with and empty void
aching to be filled

Germany, Korea, Vietnam, and
Japan; Iran, Iraq and the Persian Gulf
forgotten bloody lands.
Waiting blindly out of father’s hands.

As hero’s fade from national view
the Father’s love is forever true.
Two today and four tomorrow
Buried deep in Fathers sorrow.

On goes the parades and
happiness degrades.
When a young man dies
old men cry.
